Papa Joe Simpson, father of pop stars Jessica and Ashlee Simpson, was arrested last weekend on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. The manager of both daughters was taken into custody and spent the night in jail.
Joe Simpson was driving in Sherman Oaks, California last Saturday night when police pulled him over. According to TMZ, police were suspicious that the driver may have been drunk, and handcuffed the pastor and took him to jail.
The next day, the famous patriarch was released from jail without bail, and no case has been submitted to prosecution in Los Angeles. It’s unknown what the results were of the arrest, and if there will be charges brought up against him. This was the first DUI offense for Joe Simpson.
You have to wonder why people in Hollywood who are incredibly rich, drive intoxicated when they could afford a driver to take them anywhere. It’s a mystery because this happens all the time, and this is actually somewhat shocking because it seemed like Papa Joe was running a pretty tight ship in the Simpson family. But the again, nothing is ever that surprising in Hollywood anymore.
